Agent Season

It's AGENT SEASON.

What is Agent season?
It's that time of year, as "pilot season" winds down, that agents let go of clients that didn't work out during pilot season.  So, they are also looking to add to their client roster to fill the empty spots.

Thus, AGENT SEASON.

Write, call, visit.  Time to communicate to agents!
Actually, you should be communicating all year with agents, but there's more opportunities out there now.

Agent season is Mid-May until June 30th.  About 6 weeks.
I've coached probably hundreds of actor to get agents. Many actors get the agents during Agent season.

Do not call an agent and say "I hear it's agent season."   Because they don't call it that.  And if they were going to call it something, they'd call it "actor season."

May 15th - June 30th.

One way to get a meeting with an agent is an INDUSTRY REFERRAL.  You get an actor friend to walk your picture into their agency.  Or, if you have a casting director that loves your work, you ask them for a referral to an agent.  You want to find someone in the industry that can introduce you to an agent.

Another way to get that elusive meeting with an agent is write and send a great letter.  You can follow that letter up with a phone call to their office to set up the meeting.
Make the letter short.  Don't write a novel, edit it down until it's short.  Agents don't have time to read a long letter about your history.

TV news runs on "sound bites" for a reason.  They are trying to get people's attention.  Figure out the "sound bites" about your acting and your career. What sets you apart?  What makes you employable?  You want to grab the attention of the agent you are writing to.  Agents get lots of letters, so make yours stand out.
